The Crescent was built between 1827-1831. It was design by Architect Thomas Ellis Owen for Gosport based Robert Cruickshank. This view is largely unchanged from this one set about 140 years ago. The main exceptions being the demolition of the Bath and Reading Room on the left and the presence of some surrounding buildings, and of course, the horse drawn carriage.
